Belts provide a very efficient and economical method of transmitting torque from the drive to the driven equipment. V-belts are made of two or more belts that are joined at the top by a reinforced rubber band. This design provides excellent resistance to lateral stretching, which prevents belt slippage, reduces vibration, and eliminates excessive belt slippage during heavy drive starts.
