Locking sleeves are the most common devices for fixing bearings with a tapered bore on cylindrical mounting surfaces of smooth or stepped shafts. These sleeves allow for the installation and removal of bearings using the hydraulic expansion method, they are split and supplied complete with a lock nut and a locking device. They are easy to install and do not require additional devices for fixing on the shaft.
