Tapered roller bearing cones (inner ring with rollers with a cage) are designed to be used together with rings (outer ring) of the same series. Together they form a bearing assembly that can accommodate combined radial and axial loads and provide a low coefficient of friction during operation. Mounting one single-row tapered roller bearing in conjunction with another and applying preload allows for a rigid bearing assembly.
