Single direction needle roller thrust bearings are designed to accommodate heavy axial and peak loads in one direction. The bearings provide a high degree of rigidity and require a minimum of space in the axial direction. To accommodate axial loads in both directions, a double bearing can be made up of two sets of needle rollers with a cage and two bearing rings with an intermediate ring.
