These sets of three paired precision angular contact ball bearings are available in a wide range of designs, variants and assemblies to suit virtually any machine tool application and other applications requiring precision bearings. Preset arrangements include tandem, back-to-back and tandem, and X-to-back and tandem. Back-to-back and tandem and X-to-back sets are available in a variety of preload classes and proper mounting produces preload within the specified range without the use of spacers or similar devices. Sets of three bearings paired in tandem must be mounted in conjunction with a single bearing or another set of tandem bearings to obtain the required preload. The bores and outside diameters of the bearings are matched to within a maximum of one third of the permissible diameter tolerance to ensure better load distribution than single universal mounting bearings.
