High-temperature, single-row deep groove ball bearings with shields on both sides are designed for severe operating conditions, with some variants withstanding operating temperatures up to 350°C (660°F). Their radial internal clearances are increased, and graphite-based lubricants allow high-temperature operation. They are lubricated for life, and the entire bearing and shield surfaces are treated with manganese phosphate to ensure reliable adhesion of the lubricant to the metal and optimize running-in. Like deep groove ball bearings in general, they are particularly versatile, supporting radial and axial loads in both directions and are easy to mount.
